My FGEX Truss Rod Reefer is shown here ready for paint. I built two underframes. The suggested one using a Tichy Reefer Underframe featured in the RCW Blog and the one pictured here from scratch. I hope to be able to present a clinic at the 2019 Chicagoland RPM on its construction.

After learning from Ed Hawkins that the roofs were painted cement black paint as well as the running boards were left unpainted, I went ahead and updated my car to reflect this. I feel my base paint is a bit too brown, but too late to change. Here is a photo with cement black roof.
Here is a photo of my CGW Car Painted up. Weather still to be done. Paint used was Modelers Decals and Paint Tuscon and over sprayed with a clear satin
Here are a couple progress shots of my CGW mini-kit with a new floor built using the General Arrangement Drawings and info from Ed Hawkins.

In doing research on this CGW car I received the following info from Ed Hawkins on the underframe
Pullman-Standard’s 1937 AAR box cars built for Seaboard, CGW, and 5 C&EI BX express box cars in 1944-1945 had common underframes with their truck centers lengthened 2” to 30’-10 1/2”. This changed...

Thanks Mike. I have some 40 plus year old Swiss Pattern files, # 6 fine. These are fairly small at about 4.5 inch long. These are very sharp for being a #6 cut
These are available but getting harder to locate. I have both Grobet-Swiss and Nicholson
